Medical cannabis is legal in Mississippi through the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program. However, patients have to get a certification from a qualified healthcare practitioner and obtain a valid Mississippi Medical Cannabis Registry ID Card before they can legally purchase or possess medical cannabis from a dispensary.
Who Qualifies?
Mississippi law allows medical cannabis for patients diagnosed with certain qualifying medical conditions.
These include:
Cancer
Parkinson’s disease
Huntington’s disease
Muscular dystrophy

Spastic quadriplegia
Positive HIV status

Hepatitis
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
Crohn’s disease
Ulcerative colitis

Step 1: Schedule an appointment with a qualified medical cannabis practitioner.
Step 2: If you qualify, your practitioner will submit your certification electronically.
Step 3: Complete your application through the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program portal.
